Cooper Creek United Methodist Church is located in the North Central District of the North Texas Annual Conference. It is one of the more than 35,000 congregations of The United Methodist Church, the third largest Christian denomination in the United States.
In eighteenth-century England and America, the “people called Methodist” grew under the leadership of Rev. John Wesley (1703-91). The American movement became a denomination--the Methodist Episcopal Church--in December, 1784, in Baltimore.
Rev. Joel Scheller has been our pastor since 2017 and is a licensed local pastor in the North Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church. Joel’s wife, Cynthia Scheller, supplements his ministry with her strong support and conscientious concern for our church.
